Chef speak:
“It’s a regular Sunday meal for the most non-vegetarian Patnites and I am happy that foodies are willing to experiment. We will even come to know what kind of delicacies they expect us to prepare,” said Ravindar Mishra, senior chef,Pind Baluchi.
On the platter:
There are three categories on the menu — Shuruwat for starters, Chowpal for the main course, Shahi Andaz for kebabs, Meetha for sweets and desserts. The main attraction of the festival were —
Murg Wajid Ali
Paneer kurkure
Mushroom kurkure
Dahi kebabs
Dal maharani
While the tangy taste of dahi kebabs made everyone crave for more, kids loved paneer kurkure and mushroom kurkure.
However, the customers seemed curious about the tongue-tickling murg Wajid Ali. Apparently, people showed more interest towards the name of the item, than the cuisine. Wajid Ali Shah was the fifth king of Awadh dynasty and was famous for his hospitality. The cuisine was popular during his reign with the guests being served chicken prepared in shahi way.
