Anant bail plea for murder case
Patna: JDU Mla anant singh, jailed in connection with the murder of one sanjay singh, on monday filed a bail petition in the court of the chief judicial magistrate.
The court would hear the petition on tuesday.
Sanjay was murdered on january 8, 2008.
According to bail petition filed in the court, singh had gone to new delhi by air on january 7, 2008 and was admitted in indraprastha apollo hospital in the capital the next day.
Extortion cuffs on two
Patna: Police on Monday nabbed Pankaj Sharma, a hardcore criminal involved in several cases of loot and snatching. Senior superintendent of police Vikas Vaibhav said Sharma had fired at a shop of an AG Colony-based businessman when he had refused to pay him extortion money last week. Apart from Sharma, the police also caught one of his associates, identified as Shankar.
Brishen call
Patna: Former education minister and senior leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Brishen Patel, on Monday filed a written complaint to the Patna senior superintendent of police, alleging he had received an extortion call in which the caller demanded Rs 10 lakh.
