An old car is being transformed into a model at Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan in Patna on Wednesday. Credit for this goes to artisans from Patna and Vadodara who are recycling old equipment, including discarded farm tool, and scrap metal into stunning sculptures such as idol of Vishu Devi, bronze tree, toy wheel, dolls and birds. The concept of transforming waste metal into art was proposed by Ashok Kumar Sinha, the deputy director of the sansthan. He appreciated the effort of the artisans and congratulated them for making good use of what is as good as metallic carcass. 'The artisans have created unique figures from recycled scrap metal. Some of the metal comes from junkyard cars, motorcycles, bicycles and others. After construction, each figurine is carefully coated and polished, ensuring a rich shine for years to come,' he said.
