Motihari: Chhauradana police in Vodaboha village arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the alleged harassment of a girl which went viral on social media in East Champaran recently.

Chhauradana police station officer-in-charge Shailendra Kumar Singh said the accused had been identified as Mohammad Firoz Alam. "A search operation is on to arrest other accused," said Shailendra, adding that all the other accused are from the same village as Firoz. In all, eight persons have been made named accused.

In the video footage, some men are seen dragging the girl to a roadside field and misbehaving with her, while some filmed it. It also showed a resident being beaten up badly when he rushed to her rescue.
