Transfer orders for SDO, cops

The sub-divisional officer of Salt Lake Pawan Kadyan has been transferred.

The sub-divisional officer of Salt Lake Pawan Kadyan has been transferred. Kadyan will join as the additional district magistrate of Bankura. His replacement is yet to be announced.

Kadyan was the first IAS to be posted as SDO in Salt Lake, in 2014, and had served as administrator for Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation before the polls were held in 2015.

Hailing from Haryana, Kadyan completed his IAS training in 2012 and probationed as assistant magistrate and assistant collector in Malda before this stint. “Salt Lake will always be special to me as this was my first posting after my probation,” Kadyan said. “My officers and I had managed to execute several administrative changes in the civic body here.”

Kadyan was instrumental in drafting the township’s proposal for the India Smart Cities Challenge, even though it didn’t make the cut. 

Several high-ranking police officers have also been transferred out of the township over the last few weeks. Debashis Dhar, the additional deputy commissioner of police, and Joy Biswas, deputy commissioner, special branch, have got shifted out.
Santosh Pandey has joined as deputy commissioner, detective department, and Sukhendu Hira as deputy commissioner, traffic, Bidhannagar Commissionerate.
