Art and emotion

The Telegraph Online Published 27.04.11, 12:00 AM
Art and emotion
The ongoing show, The Rapture of Form, features soulful paintings of exceptional beauty that seek to define spirituality, love and the depth of human experience. Technical skills and intellectual sophistication give each work a distinct personality, reflecting intense perception through the use of abstract shapes, forms and primary colours. The rich brushwork and colour found in the paintings go well with their subject matter. The artworks are pictorial renditions of colour and contrasts, opacity and transparency and of the use of intense light and shade. Participating artists: Suhas Roy, Prakash Karmakar, Ramananda Bandyopadhyay, Sanatan Dinda, Atin Basak, Bratin Khan, Gourango Beshai, Sibsaday Chaudhuri, Subrata Das, Samir Paul and Sukanta Das and others.

Event: A group exhibition of paintings When: Till April 30; 10.30am - 6.30pm Where: Idiyas Gallery, 15 Dover Road
