July 6: The city police have concluded that questions of the 2015 teacher eligibility test (TET) had not been leaked in "physical form" but images of the question paper had been circulated before the exam.
The report of the investigation conducted by the detective department was tabled today before Justice Arijit Banerjee of the high court.
The judge, following a petition moved by a TET candidate, had asked the government for the probe report.
The report, a copy of which has been accessed by Metro, states: "No physical form of alleged TET paper was circulated amongst any person before commencement of examination...."
The report states that a resident of South 24-Parganas, Moidul Islam Molla, "dishonestly and fraudulently procured the images of the question papers and sent them to a TV channel reporter" before the exam. The channel showed the images after the exam had started.
All five papers of TET were held between 2pm and 4.30pm on October 11, 2015.
Around 20 lakh candidates had taken the exam for 30,000-odd vacancies. Recruitments, however, could not be made because of court cases alleging question leak.
Molla, a part-time teacher at Helagachi Primary School in South 24-Parganas, denied during interrogation that he had obtained images of the question paper.
The sleuths, however, allegedly found that the mobile phone from which images of the question paper had been circulated belonged to him.
