The weather office said showers would continue for at least two more days. “There is a low-pressure area over northern Bay of Bengal. The system is likely to intensify into a depression and move towards the Bengal-Odisha coast,” said a senior weather official in the city. The mercury coupled with high humidity bore down on the city during the day, though the Celsius fell to a comfortable level after the rain spell.
