The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more snowfall over the next few days in parts of Sikkim

Many parts of Sikkim have been experiencing heavy snowfall over the past two days, but there has been no report of any tourist getting stranded. While the upper reaches of North and East Sikkim receive snowfall every winter, many places in the West and South districts also got a fair amount of white flakes this time. They include Ribdi, Bhareng and Barsey in West Sikkim and Bhalaydhunga in South Sikkim.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more snowfall over the next few days in parts of Sikkim, particularly the upper reaches of the North and East districts.

The East district administration has directed the tourism department and the army not to issue permits to tourists wanting to visit Tsomgo and Nathu-la on Saturday and Sunday.
