Siliguri, May 23: It is the desire to do something different that has stopped Ananyabrata Maulik of Army School Bengdubi from jumping on to the engineering bandwagon.
With 94.4 per cent mark, Ananyabrata of Ashrampara has topped Army School in Bengdubi in the CBSE (Plus II) exams, the results of which were published today.
“There are too many engineers around,” Ananyabrata said. “I want to be different. I prefer to pursue BSc degree course with either physics or statistics honours and try career options available in different fields like research and academics,” he added.
Neha Agarwal, who scored 93 per cent in commerce, is also from the same school. “I want to study B Com in St Xavier’s college, Calcutta,” she said. “I would also like to pursue a course in CA at the same time. After graduation, I want to do MBA and work with a multinational company.”
Both the students said they did not have any fixed study hours and took the help of private tuition. And, both love peppy Bollywood music.
“We are very happy with the performance of the students,” said Raveen Pandey, principal of Army School Bengdubi. “Of the 185 students who attended the exams, all have passed and 11 of them have scored above 90 per cent mark,” she added.
Vanika Khanna of the same school scored 89.8 per cent in the exams and emerged topper in arts.
