Save trees

Students of BDM International "bandage" a tree near their school in Pratapgarh on Children's Day. An initiative inspired by Mumbai-based artist Kisalay Vora's The Heal Project, the campaign saw students wrapping pieces of white cloth around trees damaged by humans and painting a symbolic red circle on each. "Trees are saviours and they are endangered. It is our responsibility to save them," said Neerajana Deb, Class XII. Principal Vijaya Chauduri was happy to have been part of the green endeavour. "We keep saying that plants have life. This is our way of spreading awareness and doing our bit." Picture by Gopal Senapati
