Siliguri: Tourists visiting different destinations in the Darjeeling hills now have couple of new destinations in Kurseong to move around - a private resort located on the outskirts of the hill town and the Eastern Forest Rangers College that is on the picturesque St. Mary's Hill.

The reason: "Thalaiva."

Rajinikanth, who arrived in the hills on Wednesday, is staying at the resort and shooting his next film at the college.

On Thursday, Sun Pictures, that is producing the film, has confirmed via Twitter that shooting for the film, starring Rajini, has begun at the college, where a huge set has been raised by the film unit.

A photo showing Rajini with director Karthik Subbaraj and some other team members that has been posted by Sun Pictures in the social media has gone viral, and has only added to the enthusiasm of tourists who are on a tour in the hills.

"Since Thursday, we have been getting requests from a number of tourists who are on a trip, to take them to the shooting location or near the resort. Some are even ready to drop the plan of visiting other places where they are taken for sightseeing and want to go to Kurseong to catch a glimpse of the actor," said Tanmoy Goswami, who is associated with travel trade in Siliguri.

While a number of locals are working with the film unit, several others are assembling outside the resort and near the college to see the actor coming out and reaching the shooting location.

"For the tourists, it is like a bonus as most have not seen Rajinikanth other than in silver screen. Many of us who take tourists for sightseeing or ferry them between hills and plains, are getting queries as whether we can take them to the shooting spot or give a halt near the resort. It is amusing that the interest of tourists is no different from locals," said Dinesh Subba, a cab driver who frequents between Siliguri and Darjeeling every day.
