Kalimpong, Jan. 3: A Nabard-backed workshop to be held on January 12 promises to make funds available to farmers engaged in floriculture and horticulture, reports our correspondent.
To be organised by West Bengal Comprehensive Area Development Corporation, the session will ensure that the cultivators are paid on time for products they sell through the apex body of growers that came into existence last year.
The programme to be held at Icchey busty will also have an awareness session on floriculture.
S.S. Mandal, the officer-in-charge of Kalimpong Project Comprehensive Area Development Corporation, said: ?The workshop is being funded by Nabard and we were asked to organise it. The session is mainly being held to introduce the Nabard-funded cash credit system for farmers who sell their products through Growers? Apex Body for Marketing .?
