Siliguri/Gangtok, Aug. 2: The Sikkim Crime Branch this evening arrested an ISI agent “snooping around” the army’s Black Cat cantonment at Deorali on the outskirts of Gangtok.
Sikkim crime branch sleuths picked up “40-year-old Dilip Kumar Roy, a resident of Dhaka”, around 5.30 pm in front of the Deorali Black Cat cantonment gate, said deputy inspector-general of police (range) S.D. Negi.
Central and state intelligence agencies in Sikkim and Bengal termed Roy’s arrest as one of the biggest ISI “catches” in recent times.
“We have seized several incrementing documents from Roy. During interrogation, Roy admitted that he was working as an ISI agent. Roy claimed that he had entered India legally through Calcutta in the first week of April,” Negi said.
