We are used to seeing a face-off between Ilish and Chingri, but on Wednesday afternoon it was the silver catch taking on rain at the Hilsa Food Festival, in association with t2, inside Ecospace Business Park, New Town. But as is evident from Biswanath Mahato and Priyanka Gayen’s plates, ilish won the munch match hands down. The two braved the rain and dug into plates of Kachu Pata Ilish from Kasturi and Eelish Dim’er Bora from Aaheli. Ilish’er Patisapta and Shorshe Ilish from Aaheli were two other popular choices of the day. The hilsa festival that has stalls by seven restaurants featuring a variety of hilsa delicacies will go on till August 12, noon to 7.30pm. Pictures by Ankit Datta
