Teen injured

A 19-year-old student was injured when he lost control of the Honda City he was driving and rammed into the railings of Kestopur flyover on Tuesday, police said. Two girls who were in the car escaped with bruises. Kanishka Dua is being treated for multiple injuries at a Baguiati nursing home. He has been booked for rash and negligent driving.

Splinter injury

Two employees of Naihati Municipality's conservancy department were injured after a crude bomb went off while they were clearing a bush on Tuesday. Suraj Harijan, 22, and Santosh Harijan, 25, are being treated for splinter injuries in hospital.

Burn death

A 43-year-old woman was found burnt in her home on Meher Ali Road on Tuesday, police said. Reshma Ali was declared dead at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Investigations are on.

Woman dead

A 35-year-old woman, riding pillion on a scooter, was killed after a lorry hit the two-wheeler on Strand Road late on Monday. Monisha Tambakulala of Cossipore Road was taken to RG Kar hospital with head injuries where doctors declared her dead.
