Governor on violence
? Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Friday stressed the need to be 'conscious of one's duty'. 'If each person delivers their duty with honesty and impartiality then there would be no problem. Hence whether it's a student, or a police officer or an official of any department, they should have a broader human approach and try to find realistic and practical solution to problems,' said the governor, asked about rise of violence in the state. He was speaking on the sidelines of a programme at St. James' School on Friday. Trinamul MP Prasun Banerjee was also present on the occasion.
Bodies found
? A police team found a body of a man on the EM Bypass near Singhabari off Kalikapur at 6am on Friday. The victim was identified as Suman Chatterjee. Later, another body was found outside the emergency ward of Kona Hospital in Howrah. The victim was identified as Kaberi Bhunia, homemaker and a resident of Kona Baghpara. Her husband Somnath is absconding, said police. 'Injury marks on the woman's throat suggest she was throttled to death,' said a police officer.

? The Howrah-Puri passenger trains will be short-terminated at Khurda Road Station from January 25 to February 2.
