Jalpaiguri, May 20: The Centre has promised to consider extending the Rashtriya Sama Vikas Yojna beyond its initial time span of three years.

A. Subbiah, the district magistrate of Jalpaiguri who is attending the district collector?s meet in Delhi, said over phone that he had placed before the central ministers the problems related to the rehabilitation package of former militants and potato farmers.

?We reminded the Union government that development schemes such as this should not be stalled suddenly,? said Subbiah.
