Encouraged by the popularity of its book editing and book designing courses last year, Seagull School of Publishing will relaunch the three-month programmes from January 2, 2013.
Graduates fluent in English and with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office can apply. The last date for applications is November 21.
Around 30 students and professionals had enrolled for the courses last year. At the end of the training, many got internship offers from leading publishing houses.
“Job opportunities are increasing in publishing, more so for those who are ready to leave Calcutta,” said Naveen Kishore, the publisher of Seagull Books.
“We give students an overall view of the world of publishing both in India and internationally,” said Sunandini Banerjee, a senior editor and graphic designer at Seagull. “Meeting professionals from the industry is another advantage.” Few colleges in India offer such courses.
The course fee is Rs 50,000.
