I’m delighted at the news of a neighbouring CB Block boy emerging city topper in this year’s CBSE Class XII exams (“CB Block boy CBSE city topper,” published on June 6).
Scoring full marks in mathematics and doing almost as well in other subjects is a rare achievement for which I congratulate Raghav Bhartia. Through the article I also came to know of the way he prepared for the examination and that his interest in other extra-curricular activities includes watching films.
I wish Raghav similar success in the IIT-JEE admission tests. Given his sincerity and will to conquer, there is every reason for his efforts to be rewarded in the future.

Apropos the article “A colourful township”, published on March 14, I enjoyed reading about the various colours seen around the township.
For Bengalis, the predominant colour during Basanta Utsav is bright orange, seen on Palash trees. In fact, spring is full of colourful flowers on plants, creepers, shrubs and fresh green grass. My favourite colour is violet but I think pink, maroon and amber are the most visible colours around Salt Lake.
