Filmmaker Aparna Sen and US consul-general Helen LaFave (below) checked out the art, crafts and textiles at CIMA Art In Life during a preview. “I love the saris here. The weaves and muted colours are absolutely gorgeous,” said Aparna. “I like the fabrics. I also love the jewellery,” said Helen before going on a shopping spree. One of her buys was a hand-woven silk scarf. “I love the fine checks, fine straight lines and the weaving circles. Even an amateur like me can see that it’s so creative,” she said. CIMA Art In Life, a lifestyle exhibition, is on from September 1 to 30, 11am to 8pm every day at CIMA (Sunny Towers, 43 Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue).
