Cong disunity
Calcutta, Sept. 8: The state Congress today hit the streets of Calcutta and blocked the city centre for a couple of hours, but a section of leaders attacked state president Adhir Chowdhury later, bringing to the fore the problem of disunity in the party.
The Congress could not match the Left’s bid to march to Nabanna on August 27. A section of leaders criticised Chowdhury later for leading a “lacklustre” protest. “He (Chowdhury) didn’t even attempt courting arrest by violating prohibitory orders or lead a charge to Nabanna,” said a Congress leader.
