Nandi papers Garbage woes Hospital lock

Calcutta, Feb. 26: The advocate appearing for the families of 13 Nandigram police firing victims seeking quashing of the CBI chargesheet today informed Calcutta High Court that documents related to the case were missing from the high court.

The court told the registrar to find the documents. The CBI chargesheet names 166 villagers and mentions that the administration had declared the gathering on March 14, 2007, unlawful.

Garbage woes

Kharagpur: The air force base in West Midnapore’s Kalaikunda has requested the district administration to ensure that Kharagpur municipality does not dump garbage near the facility. Sources at the air force base said they feared bird hits as crows, vultures and other scavengers frequented the area because of the garbage.

Hospital lock

Burdwan: Residents of Shingot village in Burdwan’s Mangalkot put the local rural hospital under lock and key for three hours on Wednesday to protest the “absence of doctors”.
