Accepting the award, Anisuzzaman said it was a great honour, and receiving it from Ghosh was yet another. He said often one man regards another with suspicion and fear because he does not know the other. One way of knowing another is through literature, and it applies to two neighbouring countries as well. He said he would like those who were working with the Bengali language to keep this in mind.
