Calcutta, Oct. 9: The body of a septuagenarian lying in the morgue of a Tamluk hospital since Friday has been idenitified as that of actor Rudranil Ghosh’s father.

Rabindranath Ghosh,74, a resident of Jagachha in Howrah, was found dead beside the railway tracks near Panskura station in East Midnapore early on Friday.

Police found a piece of paper in the victim’s pocket, on which the mobile number of one of his former tenants was written. After contacting the person the police came to suspect that the victim was Rudranil’s father. The actor went to the hospital and identified the body on Saturday.

The police said Ghosh, who was an art teacher in a Howrah school, was hit by a train and dragged around 100m.
Ghosh had been living alone since the death of his wife four years ago.

At the Tamluk hospital, Rudranil said his father would often leave home without informing anyone.
