Samsung India has unveiled its 2026 collection of Bespoke AI WindFree air conditioners, introducing 23 new models designed specifically to address the nuances of the Indian climate. The latest expansion includes the addition of 4-star air conditioners.
The cornerstone of the 2026 range is the integration of AI-driven systems that move beyond traditional temperature regulation. The ‘WindFree’ technology continues to be the primary feature, using thousands of micro-holes to disperse air. This method is designed to eliminate the ‘cold draft’ effect common in standard units, creating a more uniform ambient temperature.
A new addition for 2026 is Dry Comfort technology. Recognising the challenges of India’s monsoon season, this system uses dedicated humidity sensors and refrigerant flow control to extract moisture from the air without over-cooling the room, a common grievance during high-humidity months.
With energy costs remaining a primary concern for Indian households, the new models feature an AI Energy Mode. According to the manufacturer, this system analyses usage patterns and external room conditions to optimise compressor frequency, potentially reducing energy consumption by up to 30 per cent.
The units are also equipped with ‘Smart Forward’ capabilities, allowing the hardware to receive software updates over time. This ensures that as AI cooling algorithms improve, older units in the 2026 line can be updated with the latest efficiency protocols without requiring a hardware change.
Through the SmartThings Home Care platform, the air conditioners perform self-diagnostics to monitor operational health. If the system detects a potential fault or a drop in efficiency, it notifies the user via a smartphone app. This ‘Proactive Summer Care’ initiative is designed to troubleshoot issues before the peak of the heat season.
“Consumers get up to 30 per cent energy savings through AI Energy Mode, smart connectivity via SmartThings, and preventive maintenance with SmartThings Home Care,” said Ghufran Alam, vice-president, digital appliances, Samsung India.
