There are some exciting laptops that are launching this year, one of them being Samsung’s most advanced laptops yet — the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 — at CES 2026.

The Galaxy Book6 series combines high-end processing power, long battery life and advanced displays in slim, premium bodies, reflecting Samsung’s attempt to balance raw performance with everyday portability.

At the heart of the Galaxy Book6 lineup are Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, the first client system-on-chips built on Intel’s 18A process. Samsung says the new chips deliver up to 60 per cent faster CPU performance compared to the previous generation, with up to 16 performance and efficiency cores.

More than CPU, most companies now want to talk about neural processing unit capabilities. The integrated NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS allows AI-powered tasks such as image clean-up, instant translation and intelligent search to run locally on the device, reducing dependence on Cloud services.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra goes a step further, pairing the Intel processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or 5060 Laptop GPUs. This enables AI image generation, smoother video editing workflows and immersive gaming experiences.

Redesigned cooling

To support the increased performance, Samsung has overhauled its thermal system. Both the Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Pro models now use a vapour chamber with a larger surface area in the Ultra model.

The company has also increased fin size, added a dual-path outlet fan in the Ultra and optimised airflow to improve cooling efficiency by 35 per cent compared to the previous generation, while keeping fan noise in check.

Samsung claims its longest-lasting Galaxy Book battery yet, with the Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Pro offering up to 30 hours of video playback or roughly five hours more than the previous generation.

Fast charging allows the Galaxy Book6 Ultra to recover up to 63 per cent battery in just 30 minutes, making short charging breaks more practical during busy workdays.

Brighter displays and immersive sound

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Pro feature upgraded Dynamic AMOLED 2X touch displays with peak HDR brightness of up to 1,000 nits and SDR brightness of 500 nits. An adaptive refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz ensures smooth scrolling, gaming and video playback.

Samsung’s Vision Booster adjusts colour and brightness based on ambient lighting, while anti-reflective coating and Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC reduce glare by up to 75 per cent.

Audio has also been upgraded. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra features a six-speaker Dolby Atmos system with force-cancelling woofers for deeper bass and reduced vibration, while both Ultra and Pro models benefit from improved speaker placement for clearer calls and richer media playback.

Despite the performance upgrades, the Galaxy Book6 series is slimmer than its predecessors. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra measures just 15.4mm thick, while the Galaxy Book6 Pro 16-inch comes in at 11.9mm.

Samsung has reworked internal layouts, hinges, bezels and cooling components to achieve a more balanced, symmetrical design. A centrally aligned two-tone keyboard and haptic touchpad aim to improve comfort and precision during long work sessions.

Galaxy AI at the core of productivity

AI features play a central role in the Galaxy Book6 experience. Galaxy AI enables tools such as AI Select for on-screen text recognition, AI Cut Out for instant background removal, natural language search across files and settings, and Note Assist for summarising and translating notes.

Deep integration with other Galaxy devices allows users to share files, mirror screens, control multiple devices with a single cursor and extend their workspace using tablets as second screens.

Security and availability

Security is handled by Samsung Knox and Windows 11 Secured-core PC features, offering hardware-based protection against threats. Samsung Care+ provides optional coverage for accidental damage and repairs.

Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 will be available in grey and silver in select markets from late January 2026. An Enterprise Edition, designed for managed IT environments, will follow in April 2026.
