Imagine using the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and putting a few queries before Meta AI. The response comes from someone who sounds like Deepika Padukone. Her voice (available in the IN-EN language option) joins Meta AI’s global lineup of voices for the assistant, including many recognisable celebrity voices to choose from.

The smart glasses from Meta are a hit — and not just among youngsters. They offer a unique perspective while recording videos or taking photos. In fact, a new edition has just been announced in the US. Called Meta Ray-Ban Display, all you have to do is pinch your middle finger twice, and a display appears in front of your right eye, hovering in front of your vision.

Coming back to Ray-Ban Meta glasses, users in India will soon get access to a host of new Meta AI features and experiences designed to make the smart glasses even more useful, personal, and fun. From hands-free voice interactions and Hindi language support to UPI Lite payments and festive-inspired restyling of your photos, these updates bring useful, more localised capabilities to the everyday life of users.

The device now comes with full support for the Hindi language, making it easier for you to interact with Meta AI hands-free. Starting this week, users can select Hindi as their preferred language on the glasses in the Meta AI app settings by changing the language in the Meta AI app under Device Settings > Meta AI > Language and Voice.

Also, as showcased at the Global Fintech Festival, you’ll soon be able to make secure UPI QR-code payments for less than 1000 directly from your AI glasses.

EssilorLuxottica chief executive officer Francesco Milleri said he’s positioning the world’s biggest eyewear company to be leader in the emerging category of AI glasses, which he sees potentially replacing smartphones as the next consumer-tech blockbuster. The owner of Ray-Ban, Oakley and Persol, which has teamed up with Meta Platforms on the project, is expanding smart glasses production capacity to 10 million annual units by the end of the year, in a bet that demand for the devices will boom, reports Bloomberg.
