Grand Theft Auto VI

Call it a vibe or a cultural moment, this is among the most anticipated games ever, and has been for years. After several delays, the game has finally been given a release date of November 19. The new open-world title from Rockstar Games arrives 13 years after the fifth instalment. Featuring two playable characters, it returns players to the fictional US metropolis of Vice City, inspired by Miami.

Resident Evil: Requiem

Set to release on February 27, the latest entry in Capcom’s iconic horror series casts you as Grace, whom the game’s director describes as “the biggest scaredy-cat in Resident Evil history”. The ninth instalment is expected to lean more heavily into horror than its immediate predecessors, drawing inspiration from the earliest games in the series.

Marvel's Wolverine

Arriving in the third quarter of the year, Insomniac Games is hoping to replicate the success it achieved with Spider-Man. The gameplay reveal shows Wolverine tearing through enemies across the globe in an adventure reminiscent of other first-party PlayStation titles. The game features an ensemble X-Men cast and plenty of comic-book violence.

007 First Light

Arriving on May 27, this is the most anticipated James Bond game since the Nintendo 64’s GoldenEye 007. Developed by IO Interactive, it features a younger Bond who has yet to earn his 007 status. Expect plenty of car chases, shoot-outs and gadget-driven spycraft. Bond’s target is Pirate King Bawma, leader of a sprawling black-market arms hub known as Aleph, a fictional city in Mauritania. Played by music legend Lenny Kravitz, Bawma is shaping up to be a formidable adversary.

Forza Horizon 6

Expected in the winter of 2026, the open-world racing series heads to Japan, reflecting the country’s entire car culture. The game spans a wide range of terrain, from the slopes of Mount Fuji to Tokyo’s urban sprawl and rural landscapes beyond. Drift racing is set to play a central role.

Fable

Due to arrive sometime this year, the fantasy RPG series returns after a hiatus of more than 15 years. The reboot revives the franchise created in the early 2000s by Lionhead Studios under Peter Molyneux. Every decision affects the world of Albion, its inhabitants and the course of the story. For now, details remain scarce.

Crimson Desert

Players can expect a visually striking open-world role-playing game set in a Nordic-inspired fantasy world where freedom is key. Releasing on March 19, the game lets you battle a wide array of monsters and mythical creatures. It is a title brimming with ambition.

Mixtape

On their final night together, three friends set out on one last adventure. Players move through a mixtape of memories set to the soundtrack of a generation. Launching later this year, the game features an evocative 1980s soundtrack, endearing teenage protagonists and a striking art style. Mixtape draws inspiration from classic coming-of-age films.

Saros

From the Finnish studio behind Returnal, this mysterious action title stars a stranded astronaut on a hostile planet, where a dying sun is driving creatures — and colonists — mad. The protagonist, played by actor Rahul Kohli, gains abilities such as absorbing incoming projectiles and converting them into shields or increased firepower. Releases on April 30.
