Placement time at Indian Institute of Management Shillong

IIM Shillong placements witnessed an average CTC increase of 11.7 per cent from previous year

Students at IIM Shillong have got a 11.7 per cent increase in their pay packets. IIM Shillong has successfully conducted the final placements for the batch of 2018-20, with highest CTC of Rs 48.50 lakh per annum, resulting in an average CTC of 18.76 lakh per annum.

“With an exceptional 73 per cent increase on highest CTC, IIM Shillong placements witnessed an average CTC increase of 11.7 per cent from previous year,” the institute said in its placement report.

Tillomed Laboratories offered Rs 48.50 lakh, the highest offered. Five participants from the batch have decided to pursue entrepreneurship, higher education and other opportunities.

The placement witnessed participation from 60 recruiters, spanning various domains such as consulting and strategy, finance, general management, human resources, IT and analytics, operations, and sales and marketing. Consulting and strategy became the most sought-after domain this year, with 29 per cent of the total offers made to the participants.

IIM Shillong witnessed success this placement season through the participation from several prominent recruiters including Bain Capability Network, Berger, BirlaSoft, Capgemini, CASHe, Cognizant, GroupM, HSBC Bank, JP Morgan & Chase, Nomura Investment Bank, Ola Cabs, PwC, Thomson Reuters, Titan, TresVista, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, United Health Group, Vivriti Capital, and Zenoti who reaffirmed their faith in the institute.

The report said the institute hosted many first-time recruiters, including Aditya Birla Capital, Bisleri, ByteDance, Conneqt Business Solutions, Emami Agrotech, Extramarks, FIITJEE, Godrej, Great Learning, IDFC First Bank, Indegene, InMobi, Lixil, Mahindra & Mahindra, Moglix, MXV Consulting, Qwixpert, Raam Group, and Tech Mahindra. It also witnessed participation from International recruiters, including ShopUp, and Tillomed Laboratories, who offered roles across consulting and strategy, and operations.

Consulting and strategy emerged as the highest paying domain, with the average CTC of 24 lakh per annum. The students have been offered several roles ranging across advisory, analytics, corporate strategy, investment banking, product management, retail management, risk management, sales and marketing, strategy and operations and supply chain management.

Bain Capability Network, ByteDance, Cognizant, Deloitte USI, FIITJEE, ICICI Bank, JP Morgan & Chase, and TATA Steel made the maximum number of offers this year.
