Bodo rebel killed in Kokrajhar
lAn NDFB militant was killed by the army at Jharbari village in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The militant, along with a few others, was on his way to collect rations and medicines for militant camps in Bhutan. Confronted with the army, they lobbed grenades and opened fire. While one militant was killed in the encounter, others managed to escape. The militant has been identified as self-styled sergeant Kamlesh Basumatary. His body has been handed over to Serfanguri police station.Science Day

lThe Deori Chutia Sahitya Sabha has expressed unhappiness over the non-implementation of teaching of Deori Chutia language by the state government despite signing a draft for imparting primary education in the language. Sabha president Lilakanta Deori has filed a writ petition before the Gauhati High Court. The court has directed the government to file an affidavit within March 28.
