Calcutta: It’s a mutual admiration society!

Saina Nehwal regards Yuvraj Singh as “an inspiration for everybody.” Yuvraj, who has fought cancer and is just weeks away from resuming his international career, is himself a “big fan” of India’s only Olympic medallist in badminton.

The Hyderabad-based Saina won bronze in London.

“I’m a big fan... I wanna meet her,” Yuvraj texted The Telegraph when Saina’s comments (in her interview to this newspaper) were communicated to him on Sunday evening.

Yuvraj’s response delighted Saina and she said: “I’d also really like to meet him... I hope he continues to be a match-winner for India... Hope he has a great comeback.”

If all goes well, Yuvraj’s return will be in Vizag on September 8, in the T20 International against New Zealand.
