Calcutta, Nov. 30: Shivika Burman beat Danielle Jones to emerge champion in the girls’ under-14 singles category of the floodlit hardcourt tennis meet. Shivika won the final 6-0, 6-2.

Badminton coaching
Romen Ghosh, a former Indian badminton international and Arjuna Award-winner, has set up a coaching centre of excellence. The centre will be inaugurated at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra on Wednesday while the process of selection of trainees will begin the day after.
Trainees aged between eight and 25 years, will be divided into three categories — beginners, intermediates and medal-hopes. It will be run four days a week throughout the year and many shuttlers from the state — present and past, will be involved.
Ghosh hoped to turn the centre into an academy in future.
