Tickets for the March 11-15 India versus Australia second Test will be priced at Rs 150, Rs 400 and Rs 500. This was decided at the CAB working committee meeting today.
The Rs 150 tickets, for players only, have been hiked by Rs 25. Higher-priced tickets remain unchanged.
Biswanath Dutt was named chairman of the organising committee for the Test.
Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Foundation's (ACF's) plan to conduct an eye donation programme during the Eden Test will be open to public above 65 years.
The donors, to be chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis, will be given a complimentary ticket each. On the opening day, they will be introduced to the players and other dignitaries.
Leagues after Roy
The working committee also decided to name the CAB first and second division leagues after Pankaj Roy. The former India captain, world record-holder for the opening partnership in Test cricket (with the Late Vinoo Mankad), passed away earlier this month.
4-match ban on Das
The cricket committee today slapped a four-match suspension on Anup Das. The left-arm spinner, who plays for Tollygunge Agragami, abused the umpire during a League tie against Suburban.
Easy for Yubak Sangha
Yubak Sangha walloped Rampur Milan Sangha 5-0 in the women's league today. Sankari Karmakar (2), Kamala Bal, Sumita Pal and Sujata Nandy scored for the winners.
In another match, Bally Gramanchal defeated NPC Academy 4-0, Deepa Bera (2), Mallika Mahanta and Tinku Sarkar being the scorers.
BHA league
West Bengal Police got past Chotonagpur RC by the odd goal in three in a group B tie of the BHA league today. Dipak Tamang and Gurupada Gope sounded the board for the policemen while R. Kujur reduced the margin for Chotonagpur.
In another match, Police AC and Khalsa Blues were locked 2-2. Hardeep Singh scored twice for Police AC while Hardip Singh restored parity twice for Khalsa.
Barnali in final
Barnali Raha moved into the finals in the Lalit Mitra Memorial state ranking championships at the Anushilan Samity courts when she beat Debasree Dey 10-13, 11-5, 11-3 in the women's semi-finals today
In the mini-girls' section, Dipika Halder emerged champion, overcoming Dolly Ghosh 3-11, 11-9, 11-4. Payel Benerjee lifted the sub-junior girls' title, beating Muktabindu Basu 11-8, 11-2 in the final.
Sandipan Banerjee will meet Subharthi Banerjee in the mini boys' final. Sandipan thrashed Subhojit Kundu 15-0, 15-0 as Subharthi beat Diptiman Choudhury 15-2, 15-10 today.
Merchants' Cup bowling
Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, Tata Consultancy Services, Siemens Public Communications Ltd and Telecare Solutions won their matches in the inaugural Merchants' Cup bowling meet today.
