Bangalore: Sachin Tendulkar played a perfect captain as he not only lavished praise on Rayadu, but also shared the Man of the Match award with the Hyderabadi in a rare gesture.
The following are excerpts
Sachin Tendulkar: When we started to bowl, we hoped to keep the target below 140. We thought that was chasable… Malinga again provided us a great start. He was supported by other teammates. We also fielded well and it was another superb team effort. In this form of cricket, it is very important to bowl as straight as possible and we did just that. It was a brilliant innings from the young man (Rayudu). It was a special stuff. We have had a good beginning to the tournament and we have to maintain consistency, as there is still a long way to go.
Daniel Vettori: We came off the field thinking that it’s a difficult wicket and 130-140 would give us a chance. But, unfortunately, we didn’t bowl well. And losing (Dirk) Nannes hampered our plans. So, we came off the park pretty disappointed. Mumbai bowled particularly well. Malinga, at the start, was difficult to get away.
