Calcutta: St Joseph & Mary's School emerged champions of the Debanjan Cup football tournament, organised by the Debanjan Sen Foundation.
In Saturday's final at The Heritage ground, St Joseph & Mary's School routed St James' School 4-0 in what turned out to be an extremely one-sided contest.
St Joseph & Mary's School dominated right through the game, giving hardly any chance to the opposition, which was surprising to say the least given the consistency St James' had shown during the competition.
Nima Lama scored a brace for St Joseph & Mary's, while Arnab Sharma and Rahul Shaw also registered their names on the scoresheet to make it more and more emphatic for their school.
Arnab was named the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
The award for the Most Valuable Player also went to St Joseph & Mary's, with Vincent Rozario bagging it.
Nima turned out to be the highest scorer of the tournament alongside Adnan Hussain of Future Hope School.
The award for the Best Goalkeeper went to Debangan Naskar of DPS Newtown.
