Margao, April 29 :     Fifa and the AFC have decided to put the South Asian football fraternity, including India, boldly on the world soccer map, at least at the publicity and statistical level. At a media seminar today, Fifa?s director of communications, Keith Cooper, said many from Fifa?s ?Goal? and ?Project 250? programmes will be made available, but the groundwork must be done first. The programme will bring in $1 million in aid for development of the sport in the country, but probably there are issues to be addressed as far as media-related facilities are concerned. The AFC has drawn up a chart of information procuring methods, including their website ? www.asian-football.com ?- where data will be updated quickly, said its media officer A. Subramaniam. Soccer worldwide, especially AFC, is becoming technology savvy. Information collection and dissemination, said the officials, will be easier than ever before, as much of the archive is put on the net. AIFF president Priya Ranjan Das Munshi was also around to take part in the interaction.
