Calcutta: Sachin Tendulkar’s return in the IPL has been delayed as he is still in considerable pain.

Sachin injured the middle finger on his right hand by a short-pitched delivery from Doug Bollinger during Mumbai Indians’ opening match against the Chennai Super Kings on April 4.

At the moment, Sachin can’t even hold a bat. Blood has been drained out a couple of times, but the pain hasn’t subsided.

It seems it will take sometime before he returns to the field.

The iconic batsman had also posted a picture of his injured finger on Twitter a few days back.

Sachin, who was batting on 15, got a short ball from Bollinger. It climbed on to him as the delivery hit one of the green patches and reared up uncomfortably.

The Master, however, faced the next delivery and took a single. However, at the end of the over, he sought medical attention. But after being advised to retire, Sachin returned to the dug-out grimacing in pain.
