Rishabh Pant finds it flattering enough when compared with the iconic Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But making his own identity is more important for the young wicketkeeper-batsman and that is what he focuses on.

“It’s amazing if I’m compared with a legend like MS Dhoni. But honestly, I don’t want to be compared with anyone. I want to make a name for myself in Indian cricket and an identity of my own, because it’s not good to compare a legend with some youngster,” Pant said on Thursday after his arrival in New Delhi.

Along with his unbeaten 89 in Brisbane that won India the final Test as well as the series, Pant’s aggressive 97 too had played a crucial role in earning a respectable draw in Sydney.
