Karnataka and Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Prasidh Krishna got his maiden India call-up as he finds a place in the 18-man squad for the ODI series versus England in Pune beginning March 23.

Suryakumar Yadav and spinner all-rounder Krunal Pandya have also been included, and for the Mumbai Indians duo, it’s their maiden call-up to the team’s ODI set-up.

All three made their cases stronger by putting in commendable performances in the recent domestic season. But for Prasidh particularly, his selection was both a “reward and relief” in these difficult times.

He also believes that the experience he has already had of bowling to some England batsmen in the IPL will keep him in good stead if he gets to play in any of the three ODIs.

“I have bowled to some of them in the IPL, so yeah, I do believe that experience will give me an extra edge,” Prasidh told The Telegraph.
