Calcutta: Nathan Simone scored a brace as La Martiniere for Boys made short work of St Paul’s Mission School 3-0 at the Debanjan Cup football meet on Friday.
The tournament is being organised by the Debanjan Sen Foundation.
Brinsley Murray was the other scorer for La Martiniere in their comprehensive victory. The only consolation for St Paul’s Mission was their player Soham Dutta being adjudged Player of the Match.
Frank Anthony Public School too won by an identical margin against Sri Sri Academy. Avishek Nayak, Aniket Pandey and Vidit Mitra found the target for Frank Anthony. Avishek was named Player of the Match.
Asian International School edged past The Heritage School by a solitary goal. Adarsh Choubey scored the winner for Asian International and was also the Player of the Match.
In the other matches, St Joseph & Mary’s School rode Nima Lama’s strike to get the better of Divine Mercy, while Joyabrata Choudhury was on target for St Mary’s, Dum Dum, who beat Patha Bhavan 1-0. Joyabrata was also the Player of the Match.
