Lahore: Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul Haq was Wednesday left out of Pakistan’s provisional 30-member squad for the upcoming World T20, while Kamran Akmal got a recall after the wicketkeeper-batsman was cleared of suspicions of spot-fixing.

Misbah was not in the Pakistan squad which played two T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka last month, which resulted in Mohammed Hafeez leading the side.

Also recalled to the preliminary squad for the mega event to be held in Sri Lanka from September 18 are seasoned all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and opener Imran Nazir.

A PCB official said that the final squad would be announced next month.

“Kamran has been included in the side as he is a experienced performer specially in T20 and one-day cricket,” chief selector Iqbal Qasim said.

Indications are also that 30-year-old Kamran, who last played for Pakistan in the 2011 World Cup, will also be selected for the forthcoming ODI and T20 series against Australia, in the UAE, from August 28.
