New Delhi: The Justice  (retd) Rajendra Mal Lodha committee, appointed by the Supreme Court  to decide on the quantum of punishment for Gurunath Meiyappan, Raj Kundra and the franchises they were part of — Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals respectively — will pronounce its verdict on July 14, here, in the capital.

According to the committee’s secretary Gopal Sankarnaryan, the verdict will be delivered at Silver Oak-II in the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi,  at 1 pm.

The Supreme Court, after ruling that Narayanswami Srinivasan and all those who had commercial interests in the Board cannot contest the BCCI elections, had appointed the Lodha committee on January 22 to decide on the punishment for Kundra, Meiyappan and their respective franchises.

Kundra and Meiyappan had been found guilty of betting by the Supreme Court. The committee had been given six months to pronounce its decision.

Apart from Justice Lodha, a former Chief Justice of India, the other members of the committee are retired Justices Ashok Bhan and R.V. Raveendran.

Sundar Raman, the IPL’s COO, is also among those who are being probed by the committee.
