Calcutta/Hyderabad: Bangladesh opening batsman Imrul Kayes has been ruled out of the one-off Test against India, which starts on Thursday in Hyderabad. Imrul injured his left thigh while fielding on Monday, during the tour match between a Bangladesh XI and India A at the Gymkhana ground in Hyderabad.

According to BCB media manager Rabeed Imam, it is a recurrence of the same injury that ruled Imrul out of the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch last month.

In Imrul's absence, Soumya Sarkar - who replaced him in Christchurch - is likely to open alongside Tamim Iqbal. Bangladesh have not called up an opener as Imrul's replacement, but flew in middle-order batsman Mosaddek Hossain.

The visitors were at the receiving end for the majority of the sole warm-up game, with as many as three India A batsmen slamming hundreds on the second and final day of the match that ended in a draw on Monday.

Bangladesh endured a long day on the field with India A declaring at 461 for eight in response to the visitors' 224 for eight on the opening day.

Bangladesh operated with eight bowlers and most of them leaked runs, as the hosts scored at more than five runs per over.

Bangladesh were 73 for two in their second innings when play was called off.

India's domestic performers picked for the game cashed in on the opportunity with Priyank Kirit Panchal (103 retired out), Shreyas Iyer (100 retired out) and Vijay Shankar (103 not out) making fine hundreds.

The India A batsmen put up a dominating display a day after the bowlers, led by pacer Aniket Choudhary, came up with a disciplined effort.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh bowling coach Courtney Walsh feels inexperience could be one problem for the visitors. "We are trying to strike the right balance and get the players match ready. Inexperience is one problem, though. They haven't played a lot of Tests between them. The Board is trying to give them more exposure. It is a step in the right direction," Walsh said on Monday.

Walsh, however, feels that the experience Bangladesh pacers gained in New Zealand should help them in the one-off Test. "I was impressed with their performance in New Zealand. They are a work in progress. But this is another challenge. The experience that they gained there will help them here. They have been working pretty hard," the former West Indies pacer and captain said.

Brief Scores: Bangladesh 224/8 decl. and 73/2 (Tamim Iqbal 42; Kuldeep Yadav 2/2). India A 461/8 decl. (Shreyas Iyer 100 retired out, Priyank Panchal 103 retired out, Vijay Shankar 103 not out).
