London: The Indian challenge at the All-England Badminton Championships ended on the very first day on Wednesday with all four contestants crashing out in the opening round itself. Abhinn Shyam Gupta, Chetan Anand and Nikhil Kanetkar in the men’s section and Aparna Popat in the women’s section lost their first round matches.

Men’s singles: Shon Seung-mo bt Abinn Shyam Gupta 15-5, 15-5; Wu Yunyong bt Chetan Anand 15-9, 15-6; Hidetaka Yamada bt Nikhil Kanetkar 15-8, 7-15, 15-6.
