Sourav Kothari has dedicated the bronze medal he won in the recently-concluded IBSF World Billiards Championship to his father Manoj. “I learnt a lot from my father which helped me to win,” said Sourav.
Meanwhile, he is preparing for the Indian 6-reds Snooker tournament, which gets underway in Chandigarh on Saturday. “I will also participate in the World Billiards Championship in Leeds next month. It will be interesting since we will play in a new format in the tournament,” he said.
Sixth seed Abhinansu Borthakur entered the under-18 final of the Calcutta Hard Court Tennis tournament at The South Club on Friday. The other semi-final could not be completed.

Vivekananda Swimming Association (VSA) won the Open Water Polo tournament at the Central Swimming Club on Friday, drubbing the hosts 12-2. VSA’s Sonmoy Santra was adjudged as the best player.
