Ishaque defeats Raunak

Top seed Ishaque Eqbal of Bengal beat Raunak Bora of Assam 8-4 in the boy’s singles (under-14) category, while second seed Parikshit Somani of Assam beat Sriyash Kadiyala of Bengal 8-0, in the Champion Series Tennis Tournament at the BTA Complex, on Monday.

Other winners: Boys’ singles U-14: Sanil Jagtiani bt Khitij Goel 8-0; Eklavya Singh bt Kingshook Mallik; Boy's singles U-18: S. Siddharth Reddy bt Md. Ali Adnan by 4-0, 4-1; Md. Azhar bt Udhav Gupta 4-0, 4-0; Neeraj Chowdhary bt Talin Mundkur 4-1, 3-5, 4-2.

Table tennis

Muslim Institute A defeated Muslim Institute B 3-0 in the State Veterans’ Table Tennis Tournament, on Monday. Ross S F Liu beat Dilip Santra 3-1 in 70-plus men’s category, while Sadhan Dutta beat Tapan Chottoraj 3-0 in the 60+ men’s category.

Tie uncertain

The Calcutta Football League Premier Division fixture between Mohun Bagan and Southern Samity, on Thursday, is likely to be postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, according to sources. An official announcement and confirmation of the proposed date, can be expected on Tuesday.

Seminar

Bengal coaches Sankarlal Chakraborty, Prasanta Chakraborty, Goutam Ghosh and Tarun Dey will attend the seminar by Rob Baan, technical director of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), in New Delhi from Friday to Sunday.
