Calcutta: Moving up to the second spot in the league table and looking well placed to make the play-offs, Iain Hume made it clear that Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) are not overtly concerned about the last-four stage at present.
Rather, the focus now is on table-toppers FC Goa, who they face this Sunday. "No one in the dressing room is thinking about the play-offs. All we know is that we face FC Goa next, so the focus in on winning that game.
"FC Goa are a very good side. So, we first need to think how we can tackle them," Hume said, after the 2-1 win over Chennaiyin FC.
Step by step is the way to go, as head coach Antonio Lopez Habas puts it. "We have Ofentse Nato coming back for the FC Goa game, which will be another difficult assignment for us...
"We just cannot talk or even think about the play-off stage now. What we will start doing is to get prepared for our remaining three matches.," the head coach said.
On the other hand, Habas's counterpart Marco Materazzi came hard at the referee, but only after calling his team a "laughing stock." "We have made ourselves a laughing stock. However, I feel we should've got a penalty.
"In fact, there was one person (the referee) in the ground I would like to change today," he said.
Chennaiyin FC co-owner Abhishek Bachchan iterated Materazzi's view.
Abhishek also had a message for football in context of the France-England friendly that took place at the Wembley on Tuesday following the Paris attacks. "That France played England at the Wembley is a testimony to the fact that these (terrorist) activities can bog neither football nor normal life down," he said.
