Leaders Barcelona were held to a second straight 0-0 draw in La Liga after mid-table Getafe managed to take a point in a hard-fought game on Sunday.

Barcelona, who drew 0-0 with Girona last weekend, still have a healthy lead over Real Madrid at the top of the standings but the draw cut it down to 11 points with nine games left in the season.

Visitors Barcelona had two opportunities to take the lead in the 25th minute when Raphinha was put through on goal but the Brazilian winger saw his shot come off the post before Alejandro Balde’s effort from the rebound also hit the woodwork.

Nacho and Marco Asensio scored within four minutes in the second half to give Madrid a 2-0 win at Cadiz on Saturday.

Real dominated the match and had several opportunities including three shots that hit the post and several critical stops by an inspired goalkeeper David Gil.

They did not manage to score until the 72nd when defender Nacho collected a pass from Aurelien Tchouameni and unleashed a long-range strike which went into the bottom left corner.

Four minutes later, Asensio extended their lead by netting a strike from the edge of the box.

Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger was racially abused by fans after the game.

Video posted on Sunday showed Cadiz fans yelling insults at Rudiger after he went to the stands to give away his shirt to someone who appeared to be a Madrid supporter.
