Calcutta: If you remember Fikru Teferra's somersaults and have been missing them, the Ethiopian promises many this season while he plays for Mohammedan Sporting in the 2nd division I-League.

The club's latest recruit, at a media conference on Sunday, was asked if he still does his trademark somersaults after scoring. "My friend, I have grown up with that... How can I give that up? This time, you might see me do the somersault three times after scoring," Fikru replied.

Fikru caught the spotlight with his somersaults while playing for ATK in the inaugural edition of the ISL in 2014.

Asked how he plans to adjust in Mohammedan Sporting after having tasted the glamour of ISL, Fikru said: "It's not about the fancy things... You see, from the outside, Mohammedan Sporting may look different, but fact is that the love of the fans is also very important."

Fikru reportedly had been in talks with Mohun Bagan and East Bengal as well at different points in time. So why Mohammedan Sporting? "Yes, quite a few clubs were interested in me. But I wouldn't want to talk about that. You see, I have kids and so before deciding on anything, I keep that in mind as well. I have to give them time. Mohammedan Sporting's plans matched with mine and so I have decided to join them.

"My only focus now is on taking Mohammedan Sporting to the top. The club has such a rich history and together, I hope we will able to achieve our goal."
